Gigabyte software: GiMATE, GIGABYTE Control Center and Copilot+ PC
Gigabyte devices come not only with hardware but also with software that makes it easier to manage the computer, update drivers and make full use of its capabilities. In this guide we explain in simple terms what the GiMATE AI agent does in Gigabyte laptops, how a Gigabyte motherboard makes starting up a new computer easier and what a Copilot+ PC is.
🤖 What is GiMATE?
GiMATE – an artificial intelligence (AI) agent developed by Gigabyte for managing a laptop's hardware and software. Gigabyte introduced it in 2025 together with the AORUS MASTER, GIGABYTE AERO and GIGABYTE GAMING series laptops.
GiMATE is based on a large language model (LLM), so you can control the computer in plain language – as if talking to an assistant. Instead of searching through settings menus, you can simply say what you want.
What can GiMATE do?

🖥️ What is a Copilot+ PC?
Copilot+ PC – a Microsoft computer category for AI features in Windows. The processor of such a computer must have a powerful NPU (neural processing unit) – at least 40 TOPS (trillion operations per second).
An NPU performs AI tasks more efficiently than a regular processor or graphics card, so it saves battery. Copilot+ PCs run additional Windows AI features, such as video call effects or live captions with translation. The availability of specific features depends on the Windows version and region.

Gigabyte states that the GIGABYTE AERO X16 is a Microsoft-certified Copilot+ PC with an AMD Ryzen AI processor. It suits both creative work and gaming: AERO X16 1VH Space Gray, AERO X16 1VH Lunar White, AERO X16 1WH RTX 5070 32GB, AERO X16 4WH Ryzen AI 9.

⚡ Q-Flash Plus
Lets you update the BIOS from a USB flash drive even without an installed processor, memory or graphics card (if the board has a Q-Flash Plus button). A lifesaver when a new processor requires a newer BIOS version.
🖱️ Easy Mode BIOS
A simplified BIOS view showing the most important information straight away: processor, memory, drives, temperatures. Beginners don't need to wander through complex menus.
🚀 XMP / EXPO
One click in the BIOS enables the speed specified by the memory manufacturer. Without it, memory often runs slower than it could.
🎛️ GIGABYTE Control Center
A Windows application where you can conveniently install and update drivers and software and manage the settings of supported Gigabyte devices, e.g. lighting. On newer Gigabyte boards, the BIOS may offer to install GIGABYTE Control Center automatically the first time Windows starts.
🛠️ Starting up a new computer for the first time: step by step
- Connect the monitor to the graphics card (not to the motherboard ports) if the computer has a separate graphics card.
- Turn on the computer and press Delete (Del) – you'll enter the Gigabyte BIOS.
- Check that everything is detected: processor, amount of memory, SSDs.
- Enable the XMP or EXPO memory profile.
- Install Windows from a USB flash drive. You can choose the boot device by pressing F12 when the computer starts.
- Install drivers: use GIGABYTE Control Center or download them from your board's page on gigabyte.com ("Support" section).
- Install the graphics card drivers – NVIDIA App or AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition.
- Run Windows Update and set the monitor's refresh rate (more in the monitor guide).
🖥️ Software for Gigabyte monitors
Many Gigabyte monitors support the OSD Sidekick application – with it you can change monitor settings (brightness, modes, gaming features) using the mouse and keyboard in Windows, without using the buttons on the monitor. Whether a specific model supports it is stated in its specifications.
